Google Gemini will change how students and marketers deal with AI
It’s not just students who use AI. Marketing professionals were among the first professionals the media (and probably the American public) worried would be deeply impacted by AI. Where are we on this front today? This blog will explore how Google Gemini will change the writing game for both students and marketers.
Google’s Gemini is making content writing more complex, raising risk for Marketers AND Students
How can Gemini impact you? Gemini is Google’s new AI assistant and has made life more difficult for students and marketers for two critical reasons. For marketers, Gemini-generated content now takes up the top-of-page real estate, forcing Google users to scroll. Just like ChatGPT, Google Gemini crunches content across multiple sites. The AI then summarizes data in paragraphs you can copy and paste, Gemini does precisely the same thing, but right after you run your Google search. While platforms like TikTok and other new entrants are cutting into Google’s search engine, it remains a dominant player and holds 90 percent of the search engine market.
Therefore, marketers still need to get their clients to the top of the results. Unfortunately, the best real estate (top of the first page) is now used by Gemini. This crowds out content generated by content marketers. It may be tempting for students to use the top-ranked Gemini-generated content at ChatGPT by copying and pasting it into an essay.
Either way, the solution is pretty simple. Improve your writing by using traditional SEO techniques while keeping the writing as human as possible. It would be best if you also learned how to ask Gemini to tell you critical keywords and ask it to mine data for you. This would include getting it to help you understand things like audience pain points.
Since students and content marketers will use Gemini similarly to ChatGPT, we recommend that everyone subscribe to an AI Detector Pro plan. If it’s your job, consider investing in an annual plan. Students can use Gemini to speed up research (remember to check your school ethics policy), but do not copy and paste any copy into your assignments without running it through AI Detector Pro’s AI Detection and Humanization software.
AI DETECTOR Pro has updated its detection algorithms for
Google Gemini
We pride ourselves on staying up-to-date and continually updating our algorithms and user experience. If you haven’t read about it, we now detect AI in multiple languages, including German, Spanish and Portuguese. However, we only humanize in English.
Don’t sleep on asking your professors about Gemini
Don’t play games if your university has a no AI use policy or your professor has a no AI use policy. Gemini comes under the same umbrella as ChatGPT. It would be best to ask your professor to clarify some of the following points.
- Can I use Gemini to fact-check data or papers that I find elsewhere?
- Can I ask Gemini for help phrasing a sentence I’m having trouble formulating?
- Can I ask Gemini to help me make charts and data graphics, or do I still need to use Excel?
